Keep in mind that these stats are only from the 3-homer games themselves, and as you point out, there are only a few hundred non-HR PAs

Personally, I feel that a topic much more interesting than this would be how many 1-hitters there have been in which the one hit is by the opposing team's pitcher. Yes, I know that this was inspired by a great Mets accomplishment in the past couple of days, but Cole Hamels didn't do too badly, either on the hill or at the plate, in that game, too.
