This feat is less likely to happen in the cold of the spring when pitchers are fresh and batting conditions difficult -- no?

And maybe less likely to happen in dog days in August and at the end of the season, when hitters are worn down and additional arms from the minors supplement pitching staffs?

So maybe there are factors which favor mid-season?

Although there were others in between, the last played to do it in 2004 (Victor Martinez) did it on July 16th, and the last of 2003 (Shea Hillenbrand) did it on July 7th. It's odd how it doesn't happen again for the season after July.

Wow, that's awesome. I love stuff like that. Those dates are spooky.

Who did it twice? ARod, Andruw Jones, Stargell.

But most impressive on this list is Ozzie Smith.
