I don't know about other # 8 hitters getting 3 homers, but what about a # 9 hitter?

In the ALCS Post Season game 5 on October 13 vs Minnesota Twins, Adam Kennedy hit 3 homers from the # 9 batter slot.

I'm not a subscriber so I can't post a full list, but according to the non-subscriber summary the Play Index contains 529 instances of No. 8 hitters with two or more homers in a game. There have been eight such events so far in 2010, including a three-homer game by Toronto's John Buck in a late-April game against Oakland.

So it's not especially rare.

Ryan Howard gets in ahead of him? I sure hope Votto wins the final-man vote; if not, this will go down as one of the worst All-Star snubs ever.
