Joe Lonnett

Posted by Andy on January 5, 2008

Over on Thorzul Will Rule, there's an interesting little tidbit about a Joe Lonnett baseball card. This guy had a short and nondescript career, except for one thing: if you check out his main B-R page, you can see that he changed teams, sort of, three times. Only, on May 28, 1959, he refused to report to the Detroit Tigers after being traded for Charlie Lau (who would later become famous as one of the best batting coaches of all time.) The Braves did manage to get rid of him about a month later, selling him back to his original team, the Phillies.
