There have been 132 four-hit games in the post-season. Here are the guys to do it twice:

This accounts for 24 of the 4-hit games, meaning that 108 guys have done it exactly once. (Nobody has done it more than twice.) The full list, for those interested, is here.
As soon as I saw Paul Molitor's name, I was curious how far apart his two games were. Indeed, he had a 5-hit game in the 1982 World Series with Milwaukee and then a 4-hit game in the 1993 ALCS with Toronto. That's an 11-year gap.
For all the rest of the guys on the list, here is the gap between their 2 four-hit games (zero meaning that they did them both in the same year): Yount 0, Bernie 1, A-Rod 4, Brooks 1, Rivers 1, Manny being Manny 8, Jeter 10, Garvey 10, Nomar 4, Brett 0, Alomar 1.
Wow, that's something isn't it? I find it amazing that 3 different guys have had 4-hit postseason games separated by a decade or more.

I looked that that list a bit more, and Paul Molitor is the only player of the 132 four-hit games to get FIVE hits in a WORLD SERIES game.

Teams with at least one player with 4+ hits were 85-33. This includes the 11 games that I listed above (all wins) that account for 25 of the 4+ hit games that Andy listed.

Quiz: Of the 132 games 12 have come from the bottom 3rd of the lineup (4 from the 7 hole, 3 from 8 and 5 from 9). With the exception of a 1921 game from Frank Snyder (batting 8th) all of the games have occurred in since 1986. How many of the 11 can you name?

I have no idea how to put up a stat o’ the day section but I was wondering if people could expound on a few items for me…

List of intentional walks with the bases loaded
Jim Bottomley’s 1928 and career stat lines show he is the only player with 20 or more 2B, 3B, and HR in a season AND 150 or more 2B, 3B, and HR in a career. That's gotta mean something!

The PI "franchises played for" filter doesn't seem to work.

You can put ideas like that in the "suggestions", which you should see listed under "pages" in the top left corner.
There is no automated way, I don't think, to use the PI to search for players playing for more than one team.
The intentional walk with the bases loaded is an extremely rare event. I believe the only one from the last 20 years was given to Barry Bonds by Arizona a while back. Sean made a post a while ago that has some info on this (note the IBB column in his post here: http://www.baseball-reference.com/sotd/archives/237)

I'm sure I heard Mize was IBB'd with the bases loaded, but that Holtzman article doesn't list him. It only mentions him as a reason why Medwick probably wasn't IBB'd (Mize was his protection). On a quick Internet search I couldn't find any confirmation of the Mize story.

132 times is A LOT considering there have only been about 900 post season games total! That's about once every 7 games or so! Seems to me that would be a lot more than the rate for the regular season. Can we get some exact numbers on comparing the frequency of 4-hit games in post-season vs. the regular season?
