It came up on Sox Therapy whether a six-year deal for Santana was a good deal or not. This only sort of deals with that, but here are the leaders in ERA+ from ages 25-28. You can look at the least and decide if you would have been happy with these pitchers for ages 29-34.

Pretty impressive list. From this, we also find that Steve Rogers has the highest ERA+ of all pitchers with a losing record from 25-28 with a minimum of 700 IP in the last 50 years. Isn't PI fantastic?!!

Robin Roberts - what a workhorse! Appeared in 169 games, with 118 CG and finished 13 others in relief. Giddyup!
