  1. Only 5 of these guys were awarded the WS MVP - Richardson, Tenace, Jackson, Molitor, and Glaus.

    Is Richardson the only player on the losing team to earn MVP honors?

  2. 1960 Yanks are the only team to have a guy on this list with 10+ RBI. And they have 2. And they lost the WS.

  3. That 1960 series was bizarre. In the Yankees 3 wins they outscored the Pirates 38-3. In the 4 Pirate wins they edged the Yankees 24-17 (winning by 2/1/3/1 runs in order). Berra, Mantle, and Richardson combined for 5 homers and 31 RBIs, outslugging the entire Pirates team.

  4. Tim, as far as I know, yes, he's the only one.

  5. Ugh, the Yankees' 2011 divisional series against the Tigers was like a microcosm of their defeat in the 1960 World Series.

  6. There was a NLCS MVP playing for the losing team, but I'm not sure who it was.

  7. Richard Chester Says:

    @1, @4

    Per Baseball Almanac he is.
