		<description>There were 24 Major League teams in 1914-15. I didn&#039;t check 1915, but several of the 7 shutouts on 30 May 1914 were in Federal League games. Also, there were many doubleheaders that day. You can check all these things at Retrosheet.</description>

		<description>When it occurred 7 times on the dates in 1942 / 1944 / 1908 / 1914 / 1915, there were only 16 Major League teams.  That means that, barring any double-headers, 7 out of 8 games on those days were shutouts...pretty amazing.</description>
